Honfleur Harbor

Honfleur guards the left bank of the Seine as it flows into the English Channel.  It is smaller and more picturesque the Le Havre, on the right bank, which was largely destroyed in World War II.  Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Jongkind, painted in Honfleur, forming the école de Honfleur, which contributed to the appearance of the Impressionist movement
